Thanksgiving Dinner 2022

November 25, 2022

Happy Thanksgiving! I’m still very full, but enjoying cranberry sauce over Greek yogurt for breakfast as I type this! We hosted a very small dinner so I have TONS of leftovers! Everything was very tasty, and the great recipes are listed below. I hope you had a great evening!

Spiced Pear Old-Fashioned-This cocktail, from AllRecipes, was very pretty, festive, and delicous!

Grilled Crostini with Strawberries + Goat Cheese + Balsamic Glaze-This app was inspired by Clean Cooking magazine, and was thrown together exactly how it sounds!

Easy, No-Fuss Thanksgiving Turkey-I found this recipe from the Tastes Better from Scratch blog when I was searching for advice on 20+ pounders! This was my first time NOT basting, and you really don’t notice a difference!

Sage-Infused Turkey Gravy-This Good Housekeeping crazy required more steps than I had time for, so I just added the wine and then the drippings to the roux. I also added a little less wine to done down that flavor! I can’t even find it online, so perhaps the editors were thinking the same thing…

Sage and Apple Stuffing-I’ve made this Real Simple stuffing before. The torn bread gets nice and crisp, and the flavor is great!

The Best Mashed Potatoes-While these AllRecipes mashed potatoes were good, I don’t know if they were the best. For Thanksgiving, this overwhelming Parmesan flavor is not what I desired.

Mashed Sweet Potatoes-These AllRecipes potatoes were the star of the show! The mix of purple and orange sweet potatoes were just SO pretty!!

Sautéed Kale with Coconut Milk-For the vegans in the house, this AllRecipes kale side was very easy and flavorful!

Rosemary Pull-Apart Dinner Rolls-Another from AllRecipes! While they didn’t need to cook as long as suggested, and they’re not exactly ones I would make again, they were a nice little touch that the kids enjoyed.

Cranberry-Grape Sauce with Pecans-The grapes made this almost too sweet. I don’t think I’ll repeat this Food Network Magazine recipe.

Cranberry Streusel Pie-This AllRecipes pie was really delicious, but I’m not sure I needed more cranberries after the cranberry sauce! (Note-The online recipe does not include the orange zest or tapioca.)

Orange-Buttermilk Chess Pie-This Southern Living Pie was a star! A little too sweet for me, but everyone enjoyed!

In addition to these, I served a family recipe for Curried Cauliflower, and my dad brought over mimosa fixins! I’m very happy to have another Thanksgiving dinner on the books!! Enjoy the recipes!
