Purely Elizabeth recipes always make me laugh. I first try them from her Clean Cooking magazine and determine the modifications I need to list below. Then, when I go to link the recipe from her website, the recipe is always different reflecting the modifications I would have made. It’s like she’s ready my mind. Also, in the Clean Cooking magazine, these are two separate recipes–Cauliflower Pizza Crust and a Smoked Mozzarella + Sweet Potato Pizza with Caramelized Onions + Arugula. Elizabeth later lists them as one and so will I, as I already have my favorite cauliflower pizza base in all the land to feature at a later date. This combo though, is just perfect, and I wouldn’t change a thing. (Other than those modifications that have already been made for me!

How to make it an A+: The original recipe for pizza crust included wayyyy too much cheese–a whole cup of mozzarella on top of the parmesan! For that reason, I suggested placing the pizza on parchment paper instead of the recommended aluminum foil. It may not be necessary now, but be aware. Also, I just want to point out that this recipe is time consuming, so don’t plan on making a quick last-minute pizza. Onions need to be caramelized and a sweet potato baked. Both easy steps to complete further in advance. Enjoy!
