I’ve had a couple recipes calling for nigella seeds hanging around, so I finally decided it was time to pick up a bag. My first time using the little seeds (that have a nutty flavor with notes of onion and oregano) was here, in these Roast Carrots with Nigella Seeds from Delicious magazine. The recipe accompanied my salmon fillet nicely, but as you can see from below, it needed to be kicked up a notch!
How to make it an A+: Add about 3 finely chopped garlic cloves before roasting. The crispy garlic will add a nice element to this dish. Cook higher and longer, and sprinkle with salt and pepper before serving!
