If I make or order pizza, I always prefer it white. Something about the unobstructed cheesy garlic flavor that just gets me. Adding sautéed mushrooms and using a pre-made dough–delicious and simple. That’s what I was feeling this afternoon with this Mushroom White Pizza from Real Simple magazine! See below for details.
How to make it an A+: While this is really good and the mushrooms are really nice, this pizza was a boring. The white base is nice (on top of multigrain dough because I try to choose multigrain everything), and once sprinkled with extra salt, pepper, or red pepper flakes, it takes it to a really good level, but feel free to add anything on top for a little dimension. My suggestions–crispy prosciutto or bacon, maybe some chopped onions to the mushroom sauté should do the trick.
