To finish off a fall lunch, I opted for this Fresh Apple Coffee Cake, from The Perfect Recipe Baking Book. With a ton of apples from apple picking, I looked for something more unique than your basic pie. Coffee cake as a daytime treat is always a safe bet, and perfect served as a dessert with whipped cream, or with yogurt for breakfast!
How to make it an A+: While simple, moist, and a nice flavor, I think this cake lacked a little depth. Next time around, I will add some dried or fresh cranberries for a little bit of a fall punch!
