This is like the Macaroni and Cheese Starter Kit. The recipe for a universal staple, just how everyone could imagine it. Maybe because it has hints of the Kraft boxed version that we can all remember growing up with, or maybe it is just the simplicity of cheesy macaroni without any other distractions. Either way, the Classic Stovetop Macaroni and Cheese from Food Network Magazine will be a hit with your entire family. This recipe is simple and quick–no baking required! Since it really is a basic version of mac’ and cheese, it’s completed inspired me to have a Macaroni and Cheese bar at my next party (perfect for Super Bowl, but I’m sure something sooner!). Picture this cheesy goodness surrounded by toppings to choose from like chopped pickled jalapeños, red pepper flakes, crumbled bacon, chopped onions, French’s onions, tomatoes, crumbled gorgonzola…the possibilities are endless, really. One thing I know for sure, my husband is going to be one happy boy when he gets home late from his work event to this on the stove!

How to make it an A+: Add any of the toppings mentioned above to really kick this dish into a higher gear. Or, just start with a generous sprinkle of salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes!
